The subdivision of Village Gate is a small enclave of 63 single-family homes that were built between 1997 and 1998.  All are 2 story houses, offering 3-4 bedrooms (most have 4 bedrooms; ones with 3 bedrooms have a loft), 2.5 bathrooms and a 2-car garage.  There is a lake in the center of the community that provides 26 of the homes either partial or full lake views.

Neighborhood amenities include a heated pool, cabana and children's playground.  There are almost three dozen guest parking spaces spread out throughout each corner of the community. There is a homeowner association (HOA) and the fee includes cable and lawn service.

The entrance to Village Gate is located one block north of Broward Blvd. off NW 108th Avenue in Plantation, Florida.
